Staring at People Staring at Phones (2024)

Staring at People Staring at Phones is a video installation that invites viewers to observe intimate moments of people absorbed in their phones.

Focusing on their expressions, body language, and interactions with screens, the piece explores how digital technology is reshaping the way we connect, pay attention, and understand ourselves. It addresses the loneliness epidemic, where the constant presence of digital connectivity creates a paradox of isolation, deepening the sense of disconnection in an increasingly connected world.

This project was co-produced with V2_ Lab for the Unstable Media as part of the Summer Sessions art and technology residencies.
